Are these the worst album cover designs ever?
From Pink Floyd's Dark Pull of The Moon around to The Beatles' Abbey Road, there are many painting record album artworks that'll turn down in history. Withal, there are some records that just don't make the edit out.
One memorialize collector believes helium has found a handful of some of the worst designed record album covers of all time – and aft looking at them, we think he might be right. The discophile has collected over 300 records in the by 5 years, and during that time has found approximately semi-wild track record artwork. The collector has assign his favourite ugly albums on display to rear money for charity, and we think they are altogether marvellous in their own (slightly hideous) way. If you were hoping to create your own album artwork then make a point you balk out the superior laptops for pictorial design.
The eclectic collection was started by Steve Goldman, who is now sharing the designs with the people of Huddersfield. Goldman told the Guardian that it all started when he stumbled across an record album by Peter Rabbitt called Roadstar, where all the band members are photoshopped onto bunnies, and quite frankly, it's alarming.
Goldman then aforesaid that he told his family, "I'm going to start collecting disastrous LP covers," and and then he did. Goldman uses some Discogs (an online music database) and shopping around in like charity shops and flea markets to find his epos design fails. But not every awful artwork makes it into the accumulation, Goldman says to pass the test the artwork has to "comprise funny, it has to shuffle me laugh". And looking at these designs, they certainly have tickled US.
Goldman will be setting up a display of concluded 200 records and 100 CDs in Huddersfield Townsfolk Centre. The exhibition will be attended by a soundtrack of songs from each of the records/CDs on display, which Goldman described to Yorkshire Inhabit As, "very eclectic, and mostly obscure, although celebrated ones do crop up from clip to time". (Anyone else eager to get their hands on that playlist?)
There are some pretty tragical designs amongst Goldman's assembling, but they make for great amusement. We think that straight-grained Lana Del Ray's Aristocratic Bannister and Drake's Certified Lover Son artwork go on Goldman's list (Gloomy Lana, Sorry Drake).
